Jazmine Sullivan
Jazmine was born and raised within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam, her mother has been a backup singer in the past at Philadelphia International Records. When she was 5 years young, her father got job as curator for Philadelphia's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family relocated to the mansion's historical site. She graduated in 2005 from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan started singing as a contralto choir for children, and then just a few years later, in the adult choir. Sullivan was not exposed secular music until he was a teenager. "I started singing solos at church and a person wanted me to sign up for a gospel recording when I turned 11. However, I was not ready for it," she says.
